Hope that you are having a good morning, afternoon or evening, whenever you find yourself reading this.
Pluto is symbolic of death and rebirth, resurgence, the journey into the underworld, alchemy. Pluto takes a long time to transit each sign and has been in the sign of Capricorn since 2008.
Capricorn is a sign that represents on an individual our sense of power. It is our relationship to work, in my opinion our relationship to our society and institutions, has to do with never giving up, always climbing. The Capricornian journey is very much one where you’re traversing lessons and climbing the mountain and before you realize it after much patience you’re finally at the top, looking around at everything. You were always going somewhere even if you forgot where you were going.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, Kronos, the father of time. There’s a lot of things in this realm right now that are very Saturnian ~ evoke feelings of restriction, oppression, limitation. This is a felt sense in the collective based on the Pluto return of the United States and from the Saturn-Pluto-Jupiter conjunction in 2020. There’s a few things going on with time… the further Pluto gets to the last degree of Capricorn in my opinion the weirder time gets and the more time feels like it’s an absolute lie!
I think with Pluto in Capricorn we see a very clear abuse of power on the world scale and this Pluto retrograde transit from April 29th until October 8th, to come back on the same degree as in the US natal chart on June 23rd… and then again through December and January 2023… so this rising tension in the US in terms of food shortages, currency announcements, political division… we’re just about to see I think how strong and powerful we truly are as people. I still firmly believe that through this time magic and manifestation are the way and to not allow this energy to define what your actions are.
I think that with this retrograde too we could see some very interesting dismantling in the current US government and other power structures in the world. And also heading into a retrograde season, with Pluto starting things off, it’s likely that whatever strange restrictive things may be implemented in that way may not stick.
Pluto in Capricorn may expose a lot of things every day to the point where people are fatigued by it ~ a continuation of what already is.
Because this is a time for digging deep within ourselves, we may be pushed to confront certain themes that we have been navigating on a personal level since *2008* (so for a long fucking time in other words!) This is on a personal level a huge time of graduating a lesson of transformation that has righteously put us in our places in the last almost two decades.
This is very much a time of doing shadow work, facing fears, finding a self-sufficient way to go about things… it’s an enduring sign with the most perseverance and so this level of mastery is what is being asked of us at some level.
Pluto in Capricorn almost demands learning about how power corrupts. There are so many levels ~ from the way that we lord power over ourselves, the way that we sometimes entrap ourselves or bind ourselves into things… into relationships dynamics, workplace… to the relationship we have to the rules and the regulations of the society and the culture we’re in. Whether it’s the food system turning over, or the way that corporations are snatching up single family rentals like it’s nothin, there are definitely things to look at on our OWN turf here.
Capricorn and Cancer are the father and mother, so in a sense I think this makes me think of family ~ how the dynamics of family are changing. Also Cancer has to do with roots and root systems like families and extended families… and many people here on US soil feel pretty disconnected or maybe cut off from where their root systems used to be. I think finding our way back as individuals into maintaining some of those tender Cancerian impulses like supportive family relationships seems to be a huge piece of the puzzle.
This isn’t necessarily connected to the astrology, but it’s just a reflection I figured I would share. There’s so much stuff for me personally coming through around Atlantis and this time. Atlantis and that culture was pretty close to silicone valley near the time of its fall ~ and I don’t know why I just always feel and have read, perhaps through Edgar Cayce’s work or someone similar, that people who are born in the US and who are here for this in the US have some type of karmic link to the times of Atlantis. I can remember transgenics, transhumanism and gene editing/augmentation and things of this nature from Atlantis and it’s just kind of a cycle that appears to be coming back around especially as Pluto moves into sci-fi Aquarius next year.
I expect in our personal lives through this retrograde and direct stations of Pluto there will be a lot of resolving of personal story lines that started in 2008. Cathartic moments of forgiveness, letting go of certain complexes we’ve gained over this time. There’s still a ways to go before Pluto moves onto Aquarius so it’ll take a little bit of time for the nuanced strands to find their way home as the next cycle of Pluto begins officially in 2023-2024.
Let this be a release, a letting go and a moving on. Retrogrades absolutely necessitate going inward and doing your work.
As an aside please enjoy this Venus-Jupiter energy!
