Hello! I hope this horoscope finds you well and that you are happy and safe where you are.
This new moon is a pretty pivotal marker and for that reason I am making this its own horoscope where normally I may include something like this in the weekly.
Pluto, the planet that is the most closely connected to the underworld (Hades) as well as what needs to be shaken up, transformed and torn asunder so something else can go in its place. Pluto is technically according to the clowns at NASA a dwarf planet, but it packs quite a punch and its slow-moving influence can certainly be felt as if it were one of the biggest planets around.
Pluto moved into Capricorn in 2008, which links its influence directly to the housing market collapse and recession. In 2007, we were being promised "hope” and “change” and then suddenly we were in pretty dire straights after being promised a leader would change things. Hopefully, we all learned our lesson about external saviors during Pluto’s ingress into Capricorn ;) Pluto will move into Aquarius on January 20th and will move back into Capricorn very briefly from September 1st of this year until November 19th. Pluto then ingresses into Aquarius to stay until 2043 which is when it will move into Pisces.
Capricorn is a sign that does connect to institutions, governments, leaders, CEOs, but it’s also the sign that connects us to why we wake up and get out of bed in the morning, our purposeful work. This is also the sign that connects to the daily grind, which explains the aftermath of the Pluto-Saturn conjunction that occurred at the beginning of 2020 which brought about a shift in the way that people live and work. Many lost their jobs since this cycle began and a lot of people have changed how they view work and the way that they prioritize it.
A lot of people found their power, voice and sovereignty during this transit as well, being full-scale aware of what they will and will not go into, what they will and will not accept from their world. During the pandemic “beta test,” a lot of people discovered that there are things that they were unwilling to do to appease everyone else, which is a great lesson in individuation.
Pluto in Capricorn has been a huge wake up call for all of us with the way that we spend our time, as well, and how we allocate the resources we have and for a lot of people, this gave them a goal and a mission to work on that was slow to build, as most outer planet transits are. They come with these long story arcs that can take many years to play out fully.
So I encourage you to really *use* this Capricorn energy ~ with Mars in Capricorn, Mercury in Capricorn (starting January 14th) and the Sun with Pluto to get organized, get clear and to really stay focused ~ to see this Pluto transit through by getting clear on what your goals are, fully aware that they may change.
A new moon is where the Sun and moon come together and it’s a signal for a new beginning. There is a renewal to this area coming in our lives and it’s an area that has really been moving through a massive death and rebirth cycle since 2008. In a lot of ways this should feel very clarifying. Typically, when the moon and the sun are together our energy level can be a little bit low, but I wouldn’t necessarily consider this a new moon to really rest, coast and take it easy. I would say the energy really pushes us through towards aiming higher.

There are a few interesting aspects that color the two week and six month cycle that this new moon initiates… this new moon is in a fairly wide conjunction to Pluto which does give it an air of intensity and transformation, though it’s still a ways away. This new moon is going to make a trine to Uranus in Taurus which gives it a bit of a surprise element where we may come into some type of download or meet someone new who helps us get to our goal.
This new moon in Capricorn is going to be exactly square the North Node in Aries and the South Node in Libra which creates a bit of a fork in the road for each of us to traverse. There could be an option to please others with the South Node in Libra, but more likely the path that we’ll want to go down is the road less traveled, the path of the North Node in Aries (with Chiron). Undoubtedly especially if you have planets around 15-25 of the cardinal signs, there will be a big choice point accompanied with this lunation.
