Full moon in Aquarius
Hey there!
Hope you’re having a great day so far :) Just wanted to share with you about the full moon in Aquarius today as it’s a pretty loaded one!
Since last year, Saturn, the planet of lessons, control, obstacles and constriction has been in Aquarius making these square (tough, contentious) aspects to Uranus (change, the unexpected, “progress”) in Taurus (finances, resources, values and the literal physical earth). We saw this in February, June and December exact, and this was felt as very challenging, stalling and frustrating for most people. Of course there’s things to be learned in a pressurized container, to form like a diamond, and I know many people who have learned some hugely important lesson. Another aspect of this is ~ how well can you pivot when things change on a dime?
The full moon today is really highlighting this aspect from last year that has also been in the background this year. In a way, 2022 can be divided into four distinct parts, and I think what we started off on in January and February this year has likely changed a lot. There was a sweetness and optimism that we started the year with that may not be there at present time, in favor of a perhaps sober and grounded realism and a willingness to work through it all.
Aquarius as a sign has to do with the innovative and expansive inventions that can happen when we come together with others, honoring our differences and valuing our similarities… it is the breakaway civilization, the proper and upright community that embraces sharing while also maintaining individuality and privacy, and actually the Leo-Aquarius axis in its highest light doesn’t give the self away to the group, or doesn’t forfeit the group for the self. It is in balance.
The shadowy traits of Aquarius can be very cold, artificial and disconnected from the heart… dishonoring individuality altogether in favor of homogenization and sameness. Without diversity, variance and surprise, the human spirit and creativity do not thrive.
So we come to a space with this full moon in Aquarius where we maybe realize something that has occurred in the past, since Saturn is retrograde at the moment, and will station direct on this very 18th degree where this full moon is in October, so we will be confronting the themes that come up this full moon in a deeper way when Saturn stations direct on October 23rd. So this can be thought of as a moment where you have a nice perspective in time, between the “past” and the “future” where you can take a breath and have a look around and maybe even change or heal a few things.
I actually think Saturn’s energy is healthy with this full moon ~ it’s a very good time to take a look around at reality in our lives. To assess, with objectivity which is the grace of this full moon, what makes logical sense to keep around, for the moment and for the long term, what can you chip away at with humility and determination to make your life better and easier…
There may be some things that kinda crop up out of nowhere, and I don’t necessarily mean in a bad way since Uranus tends to go very neutral, even in Taurus… probably in ways that are both good and bad, especially if you have natal planets within 15 - 23 degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio & Aquarius). The hallmark of this full moon is “it’s not what you expect” because Uranus is the agent of change, but with this full moon in a square to the nodes, there are also some things that haven’t changed at all.. and we are aware we would like to make some moves in those areas. The square to the nodes has us very much squarely in the hands of fate, looking at things that have been difficult to stomach, as well as looking at the beauty of it all and what we consciously want to invest our precious present moments in, with the south node in Scorpio and the North Node in Taurus.
I made this on the full moon in Aquarius as well ~ I said different versions of the same thing I wrote I just know some people like to consume their astrology information in audio format :)
