I feel this natural process of reflection coming up for people since on some level we know this nodal transit in Taurus/Scorpio is wrapping up in a few months, when the North Node moves over that same 29* point on July 18th, 2023 until the end of July. My spidey sense tells me that these two things are connected, both in the world and in our personal lives and we will see a bit of a continuation in July on whatever was initiated under this April 20th eclipse.
Another thing that arcs beyond this week is the journey of Mars and Venus. Mars took a bit of a hit in its retrograde in Gemini with confusing and disorienting squares to Neptune, and now since last week has been in Cancer where it doesn’t necessarily feel comfortable to exert its will and to take action. Mars, our masculine component, men in the world, are still feeling quite a bit disempowered, even with all of the Aries in today’s astrology. Mars will move into Leo on May 20th where he feels quite a bit better and we can expect that will, drive and determination to peak. May is a spicy month.
The reason I am bringing this up is because Venus moves into Leo right after her counterpart on June 5th and will station retrograde on July 22nd until September 3rd.
Right now, Mars’ transit through Cancer is having us evaluate matters of comfort, family, our emotions… Mars tends to be an irritant so you can expect some personal emotional releases and to observe that in others… though perhaps not as much this week, with Mars in a grounding trine to Saturn, but definitely as the transit progresses, emotions will be running high, so it’s good I think to go into these next few months armored with tools for the emotional body, such as tapping or emotion code or some type of trauma/emotion release method, as we do want to go into the transit of Mars in Leo beginning May 20th with our eyes somewhat open, as we will be revisiting all of that territory when Venus makes her retrograde over the summer.
And, if we were to go extra wide, Venus and Mars connected in Leo in the summer of 2021, and again in Capricorn and Aquarius in February of 2022. This year, Venus and Mars won’t necessarily connect, but they will revisit themes of both of these time periods like certain instruments getting much louder in the symphony. And this dance of Mars and Venus, evaluating what it means to be a woman or man, evaluating what it means to have a relationship, what our mutual goals and shared values are…
Venus, Mars and Pluto will connect in the very beginning of Aquarius in February of 2024, which will really bring a whole new texture and depth to the personal stories we have been experiencing in our lives through these transits the last few years. This time really has been a shaking of the players on the board, where it’s very clear to see if someone has a resonant signal with you or not, and something tells me these relational planets are vying to get us in good positions through some of the wild changes we witness through Pluto moving back and forth between the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius for the next year and a half and how it potentially reshapes our society.
This week is pretty light in terms of transits compared to last week, so I figure it’s really good to take this week to get centered in time ~ where you’ve come from and what is opening up for you through these new planetary energies (Pluto in Aquarius, Mars in Cancer ~ read about that for your sign on last weeks post!)
The moon starts out this week in the latter part of Gemini… and so we may be mentally and emotionally revisiting themes from the Mars transit we just experienced in the last seven months. The moon moves into Cancer on Tuesday and will connect with Mars, so it would make a lot of sense to feel a bit weepy, inward and to be seeking comfort with friends and family.
Mercury in Aries will connect with Jupiter in Aries which is quite positive and likely a sign or a message to let us know how “on path” we are. Mercury moving through the space of the Jupiter-Chiron conjunction we had from March 9th - 15th is actually helping us to process that through. This is bringing up for people the ways in which the body keeps the score on trauma and painful experiences and so I have seen a lot of people go in the direction of the body to release those experiences, through somatic therapy, myofascial release or emotional freedom technique (EFT/tapping) and I think this is the right direction at a time like this.
Mercury conjunct Jupiter in this spicy sign also can bring up those moments where we just have to say what we feel and hope for the best without a filter with a good chance of feeling well received, and just generally lucky and vibey in the beginning part of the week, after Mercury connected with Chiron, which can bum us out in the moment through something becoming conscious that was previously unconscious, on Sunday as I write this. The vibe does improve.
Mercury is slowing down a bit as it prepares to station retrograde in Taurus on April 21st, so definitely press the “go" button and get things done while Mercury still has a good bit of energy, even with mars in Cancer. Mercury might lose steam and become a bit lethargic, coupled with likely some interesting economic news or strange weather that may surface around that time, as Mercury will be in a conjunction to Uranus during the station.
Thursday is a really fascinating day because Mars in Cancer will be making a trine to Saturn in Pisces… Both Mars and Saturn feel kinda uncomfortable in their respective positions, so there’s not really a whole lot of energy there for taking steps that are out of spiritual alignment, or for attempting to force control or attachment over the “how” of things. There’s a lot of energy for readying yourself spiritually, releasing emotions and just like taking stock of how you feel right now, where your spirit is directing you and to take action in those directions, remembering to rest and hydrate, as water signs seem to demand both of those things.
Venus will connect with Uranus in Taurus which will at the very least allow us to see something about our connection to relationships, money, receiving, our values and to implement some new strategies and ideas. Uranus transits do tend to take us by surprise, so expect the unexpected and be grateful for the spiritual, watery grounding connection that this Mars-Saturn trine provides.
Friday, the moon will move into Leo and oppose Pluto so we may feel a bit intense especially in the early part of the day. Every time the moon went into Leo for the last almost three years, it came into that harsh opposition to Saturn in Aquarius, which made us feel constrained and small in our heart space at times. Now that Saturn is in Pisces and Pluto is in Aquarius we can see through this and other Leo moon transits to come what has been suppressed.
Sunday, Mars in Cancer will sextile the North Node and the moon will move into Virgo, which is going to allow us to see what needs to be done in our practical world to feel better and show us the next plants to put into the garden of our lives to really fill it out for spring. The moon in Virgo will oppose Saturn in Pisces as well which may bring up a bit of frustration around the things we may not be able to change and control, since this Saturn in Pisces transit is really teaching us to have faith, trust and surrender in a much more full and complete way. The moon in Virgo can be a great boon to us getting a bit of stuff done… we will grow to appreciate earth sign transits quite a lot over the next year for the structure they bring to our universes.
I hope you enjoy this enjoyable week… it’s giving major crossroads and making the unconscious conscious
